After the fireworks, after the rage A sky of explosions, a horizon of haze When all of the pins that were holding us in Decide to give way to give way to the pull After the party, after the fun When the last person leaves, will our veins continue to run When all that I said became breath on dead ears And your eyes became all on someone And all I could do was to crash into space And hope for a rescue mission After decisions made, the shock comes and comes In waves of destruction And they're pulling me under, they're pulling me under They're pulling me under they're pulling me under And all that is left are ideas in a head And I'll hide while your life's on parade Well you take the cake for a decent mistake But I'd do it regardless, do it regardless, again

America 04:23
You took a trip to America I wanted to see how that felt To take all you said and to top it three times To take all you did, make it mine But the ocean beneath didn't make it better The small packaged food and the bumpy ride But I left it behind and I made a new friend Found something to like, something to like Yeah I found a place where the population Seemed to rely on real life More than a screen, more than quotes from TV Five years forgot in that time Then I thought of the years when we lived together And I tried to remember how that felt But I've left it behind and now I feel better Found someone to like, someone to like

January 03:23
Something that I couldn't touch A light that showed up far too much And I'm flooded with a memory A heatwave in our small city January brings the sun Remember how we hate that month We'd shelter in the City Vue January takes me back to you You're probably inside our home With the doors shut and the TV on And I'm hanging out in seedy bars To strip my mind of who you are January brings the sun Remember how we hate that month We'd drink until we couldn't move January takes me back to you So I have our pub from Friday noon And avoid the streets where I might see you And I think too hard about who it is Sleeping in our bed on your sister's sheets January brings the sun Remember how we hate that month I wonder if the garden grew January takes me back to you

Displaced 04:35
All come out on a Saturday And we'll all wake up the same Words come out that we wouldn't say And we'll all wake up the same Took advice from a service man Played a hand without restraint Then you took it back when you found you'd made The same mistake again And oh you're face And oh the shame Pretty girls line suburban bars With their colour matching ways They drink too much as they try their luck With the local boys again Walk home to the sunrise Take the side street past the train Wake up late miss the most of day Then they do it all again And oh this place And all the space You couldn't take Now you're displaced Noises come in the morning With the walls around your head A silent room with an alley view And a consolation text But lines were blurred in the night time What you saw was put away Four feet down and it's ok now Cos it's safe locked in the case And oh this place And all the space You couldn't take Now you're displaced

My virtual friend bounces around To the soundtrack of our life He takes a shot where you could not And he smiles at me when I give him what he needs After 24 hours alone he misses me My virtual friend sits in my pocket Pixelated with simple requests And he smiles at me, he never regrets And he's biege and white and of simple design And within my technology he resides My virtual friend, never questions our love My virtual friend wears his heart on his sleeve Boxes over his hear showing pictures of lead My virtual friend is just happy to be My virtual friend

July 04:45
What is this place, I didn't think it possible The lining encased, a metaphor for something new I struggled to erase, the difference was the only thing That multiplied your case, three levels to a better view As the ship capsized, the water took the fittest lung It huddled to the side, filled with liquid lost it's song But rescue boats arrived, and pulled it to the surface With a kiss beneath the sky, and hope there for another life And as the sun goes down Lights go out in this town I learned to dance in July With the winter holding up my spine A particle of dust, can change the way you think if it gets Caught between the sun, and eyes that wander carefully I wanted to be loved, but these things should come easily And when it's not enough, the dust should settle peacefully And as the sun goes down Lights go out in this town I learned to dance in July With the winter holding up my spine What is this place, the changes are incredible To think it's the same space, when everything got difficult I wanted to get lost, a spec on the horizon Cos it never was enough, with no one to rely on

Well I never saw it coming The page wasn't written and the house was barely built And over the hill all our friends were doing the same thing Just a little better The longest line The wasted time And all the love in the world couldn't save us now So I found a place on the other side of the road And we roughly shared a suburb Different stations and parallel lines And I got to love you in reverse And the skyline The city lights Became a dagger in the night And leaves they dried As we found sides And friendship scattered like confetti Between the cracks I feel unsteady We found the silence, I'm not ready You pulled the blind down before it got dark And you lost a little courage Escape from the last stop, escape from the road Before you begin to slide The painted signs Inside your eyes A clever warning in the light So misaligned And far behind With frozen hands and places empty

B Song 02:44
He stands on his legs like an oversized bee Trying to get off the ground But he's far too heavy to flee How many hours in a room all alone He use to be so happy Now he can't make anywhere home And photo albums line the tables they use to eat upon The bathroom cupboard holds an item or two She forgot to collect it's been months But they don't move Should've said something When you looked her in the eye Before the wind had changed for the winter time She left something messy in the kitchen there Now it's going rotten an polluting the air He use to have something of a permanent smile Well it still sits there on his face But his eyes are in denial And swimming in his head are social meeting times Information dates and numbers Fill the gaps that someone left behind His heart dries slowly on the beaten line I couldn't be the one to save him but eventually he'll find That everyone is happy when they reach the other side

On Their Own 04:09
On the road or out to sea In a car or a bus Over here or over there It makes no difference And everyone is dancing on their own Lover in their arms or not And everyone is dreaming on their own Eyes shut in the quiet night Crimson skies and headlight eyes And the street that we took Fire in my memories Burn the overlooked And everyone is dancing on their own Lover in their arms or not And everyone is dreaming on their own Eyes shut in the quiet night On the road or out to sea In a car or a bus Over here or over there It makes no difference

In My Place 03:22
Underneath the sheets I could count my blessings On one hand With nothing on the other But silhouettes Out sinking the land Sliding out to sea The rope escaping me Fraying in my skin Couldn't pull you in As everybody stood aside You cut the ties so well Left before the dawn I shadowed for three months there And everybody saw A train wreck in the night A deer in the headlight But not an accident in sight And over all the noise Something became clear As I waited for three months For you to disappear And over all the walls I could see your face As you cut the ties And put her in my place
